Phase 3
According to my mum, the scholar, there’s 3 phases of essay writing. 1. You’re taking it easy, you still have lots of time left, right? 2. The panic begins. Maybe you shouldn’t have taken it quite that easy in phase one. Everything seems lost. 3. Things are looking up, you’re no longer paralyzed and you’re actually getting somewhere. There is an end to the pain and it’s getting closer. You can see the light.
I’m in phase 3, but that too has its problems. I’ve been good today, I’ve read some very good passages in a book that’s perfect for what I’m writing about, I’ve produced almost 2 full pages of text and it feels like I’ve not only written giberish, but something that actually takes the text forward and supports my arguments in a ood way.
But then came the obstacle of the pen. I needed to do some reading and some taking of notes and som marking of important passages in text. I couldn’t find my marking pen. All is lost. I still can’t find it. If i can’t find it I can’t mark and then what’s the point of reading really? Big problem. So now I’ve spent about 20 minutes looking for THE pen instead of finding anohter pen that would work just as well. And now I’m also writing here about the whole ordeal.
Conclusion: Even if phse 3 is a generally good phase, it really has nothing against my laziness.
