Feel like drawing!

First of all, thanks Maja for pointing me towards this. I really feel like buying a notbook and start drawing now! I  really love how those drawings are made, the colours, the style, the everything. It’s just like a diary. Like in Ghost World. I love Thora Birch’s character’s notebook in that movie. I want it! I always want to start doing something similar when I watch it, but it’s like. I don’t have the patience for it I think. And right now I don’t have a desk or anything, so it kinda wouldn’t be possible. At least not without a mess, and I really don’t need more of a mess right now.

And speaking of a mess. Here’s an excerpt from a PM I wrote yesterday.

Oh and Virgin Media are cunts. I was promised £50 off my first bill, but now it turns out they’ve not applied it to my account. GG. So I’ve written an angry email, since they wouldn’t let me complain over the phone.

It was a web offer, but since the website wasn’t working when I ordered, I did it over the phone. I quoted the offer and they said I would get it anyway. They record all their calls, so there’s proof they did. Sigh. I’m so sick of things not working.

dagjadflöghaöjfhsök!!

Update: Right, so it really matters who you’re talking to. The first person I got to had me filling out the online form and was convinced she wouldn’t be able to help me. The second person I talked to was a really helpful guy that applied for the change to my account immediately and told me there shouldn’t be any problems. Imagine that. He advised me to call back tomorrow to check, but he didn’t think there would be any problems.

But it is really sorted now.I phoned them up this morning and managed to straighten the whole thing out. All is fine and it’s just made my day. the man I spoke to at the helpdesk as so nice and helpful and pleasant to talk to. I wish I’d taken his name so I could give him a shout out. ^^

And the weekend is upon us as well, and the sun is shining through the clouds. Aaaand!

Kevin, if you’re reading this, please skip the next paragraph till after tomorrow.

Again, the lady at the small canteen has managed to make me smile and like her even more. I was asking this morning if they had any cupcakes, cause I was going to get one and stick a candle in it for Kev’s birthday. It’s tomorrow, but it can’t hurt to start celebrating today IMO. So she told me they’d be getting them in at arounf half ten, which is now. I said that was fine, I didn’t need it right away since it was for someone’s birthday for later. So she offers to get me a candle for it as well! And to hold on to one for me cause apparently they go quite fast. It’s just the sweetest thing. I’m not expecting people to be that sweet so every time it happens I get extra happy. ^^In fact, I’m gonna go get it now.

Lots of bits

I had a wonderful weekend down in Weymouth! It was so much fun and it was such a nice break from everyday life. It was amazing meeting all the Bruces again, being out nerdy selves. But then when I got home it just went straight downhill. The Tuesday was really slow and I was unbelievably tired the whole day. When I came home I was met by more frustration in the for of the Blizzard downloader that just wouldn’t download the patch in time for me to start playing that evening. I was disappointed.

And then there was yesterday. I phoned to make an inquery about my national insurance number, found out that I should have received it ages ago in the mail and then I ended up getting bounced back and fourth between different people that had my number on their computer screen, right there (!), but weren’t able to give it to me over hte phone due to privacy restrictions or something. After about an hour of this I was informed that I could go and pick it up at a job center if I brought along some id and a proof of residence. So I phone the job center and ask them and they say; no, you’re a foreign national, you can’t do that. But I thought fuck it and went there after work anyway and it turns out it is dead easy. I just had to show up and show them my id and they were happy to help. I don’t know what was stuck up the bum of the lady I spoke to on the phone, but in must have hurt because she was not in a helpful mood.

So that’s one less problem, and hopefully a bit more money in my pocket once I get charged the correct tax and get back what I’ve paid extra for the past 7 weeks. Might even be enough to cancel my Swedish mobile contract.

So today then, it’s hardly started but it’s already proved to be a bitch of a day. Alarm rang, I got up, had a shower, went to work, got here and realised I was an hour early. I’d used my British mobile as an alarm this morning and apparently I’d forgotten to set it to winter time. Good news is that this gives me enough time in the afternoon to not have to rush to the bank after work and maybe not even make it there. So I suppose that’s nice, but I’ll be shattered by tonight.

I really just want it to be tomorrow afternoon so I can go to Kev’s and have hugs and play WoW.

Wet walk of doom

It’s storming outside today. I suppose it would be worse if it was raining as well, so here goes: At least it’s not raining.

And then it started raining.

Let me tell you the story about my trip to the post office to pick up my copy of Fallout 3. I finished the ducation thing in time to make the bus into town for 4.20pm, I got off and  braced myself against the rain and the wind while I started walking the quite lengthy walk towards the post office. It was getting dark and the wind kept throwing the rain in my face no matter how tight I pulled my hood around my head. I’d never walked that far in that direction before so I didn’t really know how far it was.

It seemed like miles and miles, but finally I got there and got my package. I was kind of hoping it would take the man behind the counter a while to find it so I could stand in there and warm myself for a little while, but no, of course not. He found it right away and I was off walking in the rain again. It had gotten worse and as I was walking in the opposite direction now there was just no avoiding getting it in my face.

Halfway I took refuge in a Morrison’s and picked up some snacks and then I continued walking home. Eventually it started raining less and by the time it was bearable I was at my door.

I was starving. I ate a big bowl of soup and decided that the afternoon’s little adventure had relieved me of my yoga duty so I carried on installing the game.

It was awesome.

Update: I have decided that Swegirl is annoying and that team leader is nice. I think he just wasn’t thinking about what he was saying. that’s not an excuse, but it makes it a little better. Here’s why I think this. He organised her desk drawer for her while she was home sick. you wouldn’t do that form someone you didn’t like even if you had to be nice and civil to them. I just think it’s quite sweet that he took time to do that.

Me thinking she is annoying has nothing to do with the above though. She just gets on my nerves so much. I can’t put my finger on what it is. It’s like she doesn’t know when to stop asking questions about the same thing over and over, or when to not repeat what I just said like it was her thought. Argh! It’s driving me nuts. And I don’t want to get angry or be rude cause that would just be silly on my part. And I suppose today was extra annoying since it already feels like my head is gonna fall off. I think tho, that going to the gym will help.

I need to get a bag. A quite large handbag type thing that will hold clothes for a weekend and some other bits and bobs. And I have to get it by Wednesday evening so I can bring it with me on Thursday when we’re going to Weymouth. I could just get one quick and easy and cheap in Primark and be done with it, but I kinda want to get a nice one that I really like. which is where the hard bit starts. I’ve figured out that I have Wednesday afternoon to do this. Argh! Unless I get lucky I think I’m going to have to settle for a cheap one. I would like a smaller handbag as well. One that’ll just hold my purse and phone for when I’m going out or whatever. Guess I’m going speedhunting for bags on Wednesday. Sigh.

Health and safety

It’s storming outside today. I suppose it would be worse if it was raining as well, so here goes: At least it’s not raining.

I had a lovely weekend. Kev came over and we ate lots of nice food. I’d made muffins with blackberries and white chocolate in them. It was just the noms and we managed to eat all 12 of them before the sunday came to an end. Fatties! I really like cooking when there’s someone to eat it with. It’s not nearly as much fun if I’m alone. I suppose sharing makes almost everything better though.

We also played this little game a lot:

I can’t believe how much fun it still is! Quite a few hours of pure enjoyment, even though you’d prolly get stress related brain damage if you played too much of it in one go.

this week is gonna be nice and short. I have Friday off since I’m going to Weymouth to meet the Bruces. I’m looking forward to it so much! Today’ll be a bit different as well. I’m having my health and safety education this afternoon from 12.45 till 16.00. Hopefully it’s not all too boring, although I suspect I won’t be that lucky. We’ll see. I’ll be going to the gym after work today as well, so coming home early isn’t going to happen, especially since I’m going to go pick up my Fallout 3 at the post office when I get into town. Only problem is that the post office is in the opposite part of town from where I live, so it’ll be a little trek. I’m dreading it already.

I has it!

I will say no more than this:

Fallout 3, collector's editionLeft to right: making-of video, the game, lunch box, bobble head doll and art book. Huzzah!!
