List for when the money comes

Yeah, instead of telling you about my awful, horrible Monday, I’m just gonna go ahead and write a list of things that I have been drooling over that I will buy once I’ve received my first few paychecks from my new job. Fun eh?!

I’m gonna start with things that may not be too interesting and then move on to more fun things further down the list. How’s that sound? Or no, don’t answer, by the time you read this I’ll already have written the list anyway, so you have no say. None!

  • Pay back debt to Kev.
    • Yeah, since I’ve been broke for the past um… forever, I’m in a little debt to a certain boyfriend, but not for long! Moahah! That’s actually the most important point on my list, but probably the most boring one. I hate hate hate being in debt, especially to people that I care about, even though someone that’s close to you often are more willing to help you out, they’re the ones I feel the worst about borrowing money from. Does that make sense? I’ve always been very uptight about money.
  • Pay off laptop.
    • Yeah, again with the hating of the oweing of the money. As soon as I can, I’m gonna pay off my laptop. Shouldn’t be too bad now anyway, it’s been a while since I got it.
  • Get new headphones.
    • My old ones broke at some point during the day. Everything was working against me today. First my brain, then my stomach, then the weather and last but not least, my earphones. One of them’s not working anymore.
  • Learn how to drive.
    • I need it so bad now. It’s a bit difficult to get to work without a car. I can get a lift, pretty much every day, but I’d prefer not being dependant on someone else like that. And it’s long overdue anyway.
  • Get a new mobile.
    • As you know I’ve been looking at the Sony Ericsson Satio. We’ll see if I can afford it when it comes out in October.
  • Get a car!
    • Hopefully, by the time I’ve learnt how to drive, I’ll have enough money to buy a car. I’ve got my mind set on a Fiat 500 Lounge with a 1.2 litre engine. It’s a lovely wee car and it’s all I need really. I won’t be doing any racing, I don’t need a massive car and I’ll pretty much only be driving to and from work and maybe to the shop. Nom nom.
  • Stuff fo the flat.
    • It’s bound to sneak in there in between all the other stuff.
      • I want a filter coffe maker
      • A sofa bed, although we’ll buy that together
      • Plants
      • Stuff! I really don’t know until I find it and bring it home. :P

I’m sure there are more things that I havent though about yet, but those were the ones that came to my mind while I was on the trin this afternoon. I was just gonna put them down on a piece of paper, but then I thought they might make a good blogpost.

  1. I’m not at all in the car-buying mindset yet, but I’m starting to realize that ‘i might have to need one one day :) Especially if I’m going to become a lame country-dweller, ho ho! I think I want to be a lame country-dweller one day..

Yeah, I read that earlier. Was catching up on half a week of missed blog reading :P I quite like the idea of small town life. The part of Glasgow we’re moving to is kinda like a little town of it’s own. It really doesn’t look like it’s very close to a big, busy city centre, which appeals to me a lot. I’d rather live a bit away. I’m starting to miss having a proper forest close though.

I’m really looking forward to learning how to drive. I think I’d really enjoy it now, and I think having my own car would give me a huge sense of freedom. It’s so much harder to get around here without a car. It’s strange, I’ve never had the need for it at all before.

  2. Fiat 500!! YAY go italy. Very good cars karp, and a 1.2L engine on a small car like that is more powerful than you’d think. I do believe though, that fiat 500’s cost quite a lot!!!

Yeah, from what I heard they’re pretty awesome, and just what I need. The cost around £9000 new, and they’ve dropped to about £7000 pre-owned, so it’s not too bad. And it’s a long term investment, so considering it’ll take me to work every day for at least 5 years, it’s not too bad. I’d rather pay a bit more and not have to go to the garage and have it fixed every three months.
