Inspired by Maark, on the Brucey forums, here comes a little story about a strawberry crumble and its making.
Starting with the ingredients, it’s very simple: Strawberries, sugar, flour and butter.

Flour, sugar, butter and strawberries
Rinse the berries and remove the little green bits. Leave them to get nice and warm in the sun while you make the crumble.

...nom nom!
Mix 75g of butter, half a cup of sugar and enough flour to make the crumble look like this:

Crrrrrmbl!
Cut the strawberries in halves, or smaller pieces if you have large berries. However, be careful not to cut yourselves. Knives can be dangerous and it’s difficult to bake when the following is going on:

Bloooood!
Moving on, albeit a bit more slowly, what with having to hold one hand above my head and all, you’ll eventually reach this result. Sprinkle the strawberries with sugar. Although that might not be needed if they are very ripe and sweet already.

All cut up
Cover the whole business with the crumble and place a few small knobs of butter on top.

Almost there...
Then shove the whole thing in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until the crumble looks nice and golden brown and you can see the strawberies bubbling up from underneath it, like so:

Ta-daaa!
Serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
Also, moving on to other things, I bought some flowers yesterday. For the house and for Kev, since he was so nice and took care of me while I was ill during the week. I thought he deserved some roses.

For Kev
And then I also got some flowers for the house. Found a bargain orchid and a really cute one for the kitchen window, and also something to stick in the bedroom.

To give us some oxygen while we sleep

£4.49! How good is that?

And isn't that the cutest?
