I’ve had a very stressful weekend. I was just planning to finish the translation I’m working on and then feel the satisfaction of having completed it, but of course something had to get in the way.
We decided to go into town so I could get my passport verified by the post office for my provisional license, so I didn’t have to send in my actual passport to the DVLA. I thought that sounded a bit unsafe. But after about 15 minutes of waiting and arguing with the clerc and her manager, it turns out they can’t do passports that aren’t from the UK, but they can do EU ID-cards. So I hand them that. Fine. And then it turns out they can’t deal with online applications, so if I want to have it verified I have to make a new application and pay another £50. Great. I was fuming when I walked out of there, and I’m afraid I took it out on Kev a little. Sorry! <3
We then tried to find a Lloyds bank, so we could open a shared account for ease of bill-paying. We’ve been trying to for about a month now, but alas we failed this time as well because all the banks were closed. I was about to cry and it made me feel so silly that I walked really fast all the way to central station and got on the train. I didn’t talk at all for the whole time, afraid I would break out in tears if I did, so Kev must have been slightly frightened by that time.
I was able to explain when we got home though, and I decided that I would come with him out in the evening, just to get something else to think about. I ended up having a really good time, so it helped loads. I didn’t get as much translating done as I had hoped, but I was planning to sit with it the whole Sunday.
Which I did, and now it’s finished! All I have left to do now is to check and proof read it, which I’m quite looking forward to.
I must have slept in such a weird position between Saturday and Sunday though cause I wouke up with a horrible pain in my hip and I limped around the flat all day, looking really funny. I was like: ”Ow! This is really strange. Ow, Kev, I can’t walk properly, look! Hahahaaoooow! Ow!”
Still feel it a little bit, but at least I can walk like a normal person now.
