Dictionary: The Upper Gate
The Upper Gate is the door to heaven. Like the lower gate it’s very hard to find even if you do know what you’re looking for, but not because nobody wants to get in. The reason is quite the opposite. Many have tried to find the gate, but very few has succeeded, and even fewer has managed to open it. Even so, this gate too has a guardian – Raphael, a peaceful soul, much devoted to the forest around the gate.
This forest is very deep and dense, and much like a rainforest it’s also humid and very warm. It’s surrounded by high mountains, making it very difficult to access. Some say it contains magical creatures of older times, that simply because of the very protected and secluded conditions they have managed to live on.
For over 100 years the upper gate has been shut completely. Nobody have been able to go through it, not even the angels, who in the past could travel through it at will. Likewise, nothing or nobody has come out of it for ove 100 years either, not even a whisper. Nobody knows why it’s shut, or how long it’s going to last.
